This product is unique because there is nothing else on the market that works in the same way. Select a tin of Restor-A-Finish in the tint of your choice or just use neutral. Please note that the colours are only there to boost an existing colour: the tints in Restor-A-Finish are merely a wash.

Test somewhere inconspicuous by pouring a little Restor-A-Finish onto a corner of a clean, white cloth until it is moist. Apply it to the surface of the furniture, rubbing it in gently but thoroughly. If the surface is responding nicely, continue rubbing and working with the grain wherever possible until the whole item is glistening wet. However, if the cloth applicator is not getting rid of light scratches, white haze or other light surface blemishes, you’ll need to use a pad of Howard four zero grade superfine steel wool. Break the steel wool pad in half and, wearing rubber gloves, pour the product directly into the broken edge and begin working on your item again. Use only light pressure while it is working well and then only increase the pressure to remove more serious marks. When a surface is quite badly damaged, you can increase the pressure and in most cases even severe marks will blend away leaving very little evidence that they were ever there. The worst case scenario is when the only alternative seems to be to strip the piece. Instead try vigorously rubbing the saturated steel wool pad into the surface, keeping it full of Restor-A-Finish and replace it when necessary.

A coat of Feed-N-Wax is recommended after the restoration is finished as it will nourish the new surface and protect against future damage.
